Hi,
I bought 1 licence to mainly use Rhino on Mac as a single user. As I’m sometimes developing plugins, I wonder if my licence is also available on a windows PC for development purpose or must I buy a second licence to install and use Rhino on a second computer ?
Note that I am the only one user of Rhino on the Mac and PC.
Rhino licenses for V8, V7 and V6 are valid for both the Mac and Windows versions. (V5 licenses were Mac or Windows specific.)
You can use your license on multiple computers with either Rhino for Mac or Rhino for Windows installed - but - you can only use one computer at a time.
Alternatives for sharing a license across computers:
Cloud Zoo - the license transfers automatically and only internet access is needed. In fact it will work for a while without internet access. It is very easy to switch between computers. This is what I’ve been using without any problems with multiple Windows computers. Rhino - Licensing
Lan Zoo - for systems with multiple computers connected to a single LAN. Internet not required. This is typically used in a university computer lab situation or similar.
Moving license - you can move a license from one computer to another each time you change computers. Each time the computer being used is switched the user will need to move the license.
