Leader text placement along the curve

Please let me know if you have control of where the text is placed along a leader curve. I can turn the points on and see the control points for the text. I then select them but cannot move them along the curve to adjust the text placement. The text always snaps to the curve head.

If this is not part of the leader properties now it would be a feature that would be good for my workflow.

Right now, I am using a separate text object for placement contained in a block. Works but would be better if movement of the text along the curve was contained within the leader object.

The text always snaps to the curve head.

I’m not sure if I’m understanding this correctly. The text of a leader is always placed at the end of the leader. Could you post an example of what you are trying to do?

I think you answered my question with your answer. You can not change the location of the leader text? What would be nice would be to have the text movable within the leader context like:
