Lately, I’ve noticed that the layers panel scrolls by itself when hovered over.
It searches, as it were, for the first layer selected ?
I think it is a issue…

Yep. It does it vertically and horizontally. I’ve undocked my panel and added a button to my middle mouse button menu for the “Layer” command. So I just close the dialog when not in use and re-open it. It doesn’t cure the issue but if you work with a larger dialog it alleviates the issue. It can’t jump if it can’t scroll.

Steps to reproduce the issue:
Create 20 layers (more than the panel can show)
Select Layer 01 (first/top)
Scroll down to make the selected layer disappear.
Move mouse outside of the panel and come back.

This is a know issue, unfortunately. I’ve pushed a fixed in to this week’s 8.18 release candidate that should mostly fix this.
