Layer is not already selected with the Select Layer command on a selected object like it works on Windows

If you select an object(s) on the layers you need to isolate, you can use SelectLayer to bring up a dialog box with the appropriate layers already selected,

Reading this on that other thread, I tried and on the Mac the
dialogue comes up but the layer is not selected.
Would it be possible to bring the Windows behaviour here to the Mac? Please.
