I often use sub-layers for organization, but there is no option for Select objects on sub-layers just for layers. When there are sub-sub-layers it’s very annoying–and a waste of time–to have to open all the sub-layers and highlight everything.
I emailed about this issue a year or so ago and someone was told that Select objects on layer would do that, but I don’t think that’s the case.
