Latest Rhino 6 crashes every time I open the Named Views panel

Hello, after updating Rhino 6 to the latest version, the program now freezes whenever I open the Named Views panel. I’ve tried disabling V-Ray, which is also up to date. Any help or a fix would be appreciated.

Hello - can you please try disabling VRay in Options > Plug-ins page and then restart Rhino - does it behave better?

Thanks Pascal. That helped me get to the solution. I had a Named View that was saved with the “Rendered” view style active. I guess it was trying to render the thumbnail and just hung instead. I’ve re-saved the view with the “Shaded” style activated.

Hm… obviously that should not happen… I’ll try to reproduce this. You were using the built-in ‘Rendered’ display mode, correct?

I’m having the same issue , Rhino just cannot open the named views panel. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello - please run SystemInfo in Rhino and post the results here.

I am having the same issue. I disabled V-ray and it still crushes every time I try to use named view. I tried to use the wire frame vie and it still crushes.

Hi - please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and post the results here.

Hi Jack - the items above are possible causes or at least possible contributing factors for your troubles. Please start by updating Rhino and the drivers for your GPU.

I’m having the same problem with named views in rhino 6. The file is about 410,00 KB and crashes every time I try to access or edit the named views. The command bar prompts “creating meshes…press Esc to cancel”, however I have no meshes turned on in the file. Any suggestions?

Hello - if the viewport wireframe or in some shaded mode? Does Zoom Extents and a shaded viewport also crash?

-Pascal

I have all views in wireframe mode. When I go to named views, the program crashes.

I just tried something and it worked. I switched to wireframe and hid all the geometry, then went to the named views and turned on the geometry. However, this seems like a lot of effort to go through to get to the views. Is there an alternate fix to this problem?

Thanks

Hello - the problem lies, I assume, in one or more objects in this particular file. Please try shading the viewport and zooming extents with all objects un-hidden - does that work? Is anything selected by SelBadobjects? If so, if you delete or hide these, does NamedView work correctly?

Hello, I was experiencing the same problem. Whenever I click on the save button on named views Rhino would freeze. I use a dual monitor setup, and on unplugging the monitor, it started working. The floating window must have been stuck in between the two screens, a problem I have experienced before.
