Hi,
I have a few remarks on to the walk/fly mode available in Lands Design:
-
It would be nice to have the possibility to remap movement from the arrow keys. I am really used to WASD movement (no, not only gaming habits, but Archicad and Blender allows movement with them). Currently I see no option to change this and the default mode feels awkward as my right hand is on the mouse most of the time and the left hand needs to move away quite a distance.
-
Controlling height: according to the documentation, walk mode allows to control height with ± keys - this option does nothing for flying. It would be much convenient to use Q and E (or shift and C) to change height during fly mode too. This ties back to 1), as custom key mapping would be the best, but fly mode does not allow to modify the movement vector’s origin vertically with keys (sideways the left/right arrows work).
-
Toggling into fly mode directly: I need to switch to fly mode by pressing space, which is annoying as my camera drops instantly after entering walk mode.
Maybe I am not seeing an option and these are possible - in that case I would appreciate the help on how to achieve them.
If not, would these be hard to implement? I am really used to this kind of navigation in Archicad (especially for long modelling sessions, it is extremely immersive), and I would like to replicate it.
Parallel with these questions/notes, if anyone has good experience with a well-working WASD-style navigation plugin, I’m all ears.
There are examples for both plugins and wishes.
…I think the native navigation and WalkAbout should behave this way, but that’s another story.
Thanks!
