Laggy V8 for Mac

i recently started noticing some intermittent lags when working, slightly when rotating the viewport or zooming in and out i assume it might be something @the_eraser has noticed and complained about.

the problem is that it does not lag all the time but very frequently in short bursts and seems to occur rhythmically meaning in the same frequency.

maybe it has something to do with the this bar updating automatically cycling through the document settings or something like that? at least i noticed while zooming in out that those lags seems to occur when this one updates, and when it does not show anything it seems to keep the same lag frequency and keeps the same frequency when it starts cycling through again.

any ideas? it is not very strong but when you work fast the lags can be very disruptive suddenly not zooming or rotating jaggy.

how would you disable that function below anyway? i could not find anything to stop it from cycling through or displaying altogether.

I do see something like that on occasion, but so far did not manage to reproduce it. Does this behavior go away when you restart Rhino? I’d be interested to see if that part of the statusbar is involved. To disable the cycling, right click it and uncheck everything but 1 item.

:+1: cool thanks, i turned them all off, i am not sure, i might be imaging that it got better but it definitely did not mitigate the issue completely if at all.

restarting rhino helped yes. i also leave my files or rhino generally open often over several days

something is a bit off when i enable only one, for instance selected objects count then it still cycles on and off. in other words it does not show the result immediately but i have to wait for the cycle to turn it on. besides that a cycle between on an off in this case is not helpful i would suggest to display the selected objects the moment i select them and display that info till i deselect them again… what do you think?
