Lagging occurs while working from an older file in version 6

I’ve been working on a file in version 5 and was doing fine and just updated the software to 6.

When working in files that were created in 5 I’m experiencing lagging while copying, pasting, turning the gumball - basically, everything I do is slow while working from an older file.

When I began working on a new file in version 6 I haven’t had any problems related to speed. Any ideas for quick fixes?

Thanks,

Hello - are these files complex? Do they have a lot of materials? Does a simple V5 file behave the same way?

-Pascal

Pascal,

They are pretty simple. Two materials - but many surfaces. Apologies, I’m a novice - I’m unfamiliar with v5 files. Can you elaborate?

Thanks,

I mean, does any file, even a simple one with a box or two, show the problem in V6?
-Pascal

No. I’m only encountering the lagging when I copy objects out of an old file (in version 5) to the updated version. When I start with a fresh V6 file things are quick.

Please open V5. Make a box. Save the file. Does this file cause the same problems you described?

-Pascal

I believe I need another license key to save my v5 file, which I don’t have access to. any ideas/suggestions? When I opened v5 it was quick.

Hi - here is a simple box in the Rhino 5 file format.
When you open this in your Rhino 6, does it cause any problems on your machine?
