Ladybug - Radiation Analysis - 15minutes?

Greetings,

I try to do a Radiation Analysis of one level of a building, full year, with interior rooms and balconies. But the Radiation component takes 15 minutes to compute! And the offset distance is 2000mm - I need it less.

Any tips on how to reduce the compute time??

Here’s my grasshoper and the results:

Thank you!

Hi @Bogdan_Chipara,

That does not appear to be your bottle neck as the ms stands for milliseconds so that component is taking 15milliseconds to compute not 15 minutes.

If you’re script has a bottle neck that IS taking 15 minutes it’s somewhere not shown on this canvas screenshot as I see 6.6, and 4.5 seconds, and then 37, 15, 12, 9 ms.

so you should be getting results in a little over 11 seconds here…

Well… I see that you have the radiation component set to False so likely when that is enabled you do have a bottleneck there…

Please share the script with internalized geometry/data if you want more help identifying a specific bottleneck.

Hope that helps!

@michaelvollrath , thanks for your reply!

  • your observation is correct, once set to True, radiation will run for 15minutes.

File is to big, you will have to download from Wetransfer:

You also have the EPW file in the archive.

Let me know how it runs on your end.
