Just downloaded Rhino 6 and its not responding

I just bought Rhino 6 for school purposes and after a minute or so after opening the program my screen will flash black for a moment and the program becomes non responsive. The same problem occurs in safe mode. This is very disappointing for me as i have been using Rhino 5 for the past 4 years or so.

This is the system info stuff:

Well nothing looks too weird there…is there a newer video driver available? I don’t see anyone else having issues with that specific card. The screen actually flashing black sounds concerning…is this a new system?

This is a relatively new system, and it is the most recent windows approved driver. The screen flashing also only occurs with Rhino 6, and there are no issues with running Rhino 5 on this system

Hi -
As Jim says, that system looks fine on paper.

Can you describe this a bit more? Is it getting slow or is it completely impossible to do anything at all? How do you then close the program? Is there still activity in the Task Manager?
-wim

The program is totally un responsive and I have to close the program through task manager. Under task manager it also says that the program is not responding.

Hello - what is the display? One monitor or multiple? Does this happen with any file, or only some? A brand new file with just a box for example?

-Pascal

The display is a single monitor (a sony tv at the moment), and so far it has done this on new files. I have not tried opening older files with more stuff in them yet.

Hello - if you only open Rhino, what happens? Does this problem occur, or do you need to open an existing file to see the problem?

-Pascal

So with older files that have stuff in them already, it will become unresponsive after about a minute. In regards to just opening the program there seems to be no issues until you start drawing. So when I open a new file and do nothing everything seems stable. Opening existing files and after drawing a few lines in a new file is when issues occur.

Hello - if you have an example file that shows the problem, please send to tech@mcneel.com to my attention, along with a link back here in your comments.
