Joining Edges on SubD

Hi,

Im trying to join subd edges to each other to create one solid subd surface. However, the lines don’t want to connect even when I redraw the subd surface.

As you can see, the thick line indicates that the edges have not been connected even though the subd is joined using the ‘join’ command. As well as that a dark shade occurs in the end of those edges and I cannot seem to find any help online on this matter.

Another issue im having is simplifying the subd, maybe by making the surfaces uniform or homogeneous it would solve the problem? Not so sure how to simplify the surface.

you will want to stitch any where you see 2 or 3 points on top of each other.

'm thinking you can simplify this model a lot by deleting unneeded edges.

any darker edges you see is an indicator to look for points that need to be stitched.
