HI,
I tried doing that but did not get the desired results.
Let me re-state the situation at hand:-
-
Non_planar cuves
-
One Object gem positioned to one line segment (reference line joining 2 ends of thenon-planar curve)
Objective: Transforming (orienting object to all other line segments)
Condition: Orientation to be normal to line segments .
Tried: 1. Orienting with 2 points but getting skewed gem-object positions
2. Tried project command. Did not achieve desired results. Result: Gem object is positioned below the non-planar curve

Hi Rahul - try setting Project on the Osnaps box before you start setting the points for Orient. Any luck?

Jewels.3dm (2.2 MB) Hi,
I am unable to orient the gem to the different line segments with gems normal to them. I find that the gems tilt when I use orient 2 points. I have grouped a line segment with the gem as the gem is a mesh in this case and I am orienting the group to the new positions.
Is there a way I can orient the gem to different positions in with the gems normal to the respective positions.
