I've got a Rhino that crashes upon opening-Solved

One of our sales people has an unusable Rhino on their laptop. It crashes 100% of the time when trying to open it, even if it’s a blank session. I updated the graphics drivers but no luck. It will open in safe mode, and I saved the system info. Here it is:

This doesn’t look very helpful, but maybe it is. The graphics card is an Nvidia GTX1050. He said this has been happening for about a month. We just updated to the latest SR hoping that would help, but it didn’t.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan - what comes to mind, assuming there are no third party plug-ins trying to load(?) is to completely uninstall the graphics drivers and then install the latest, i.e. ‘clean install’

Uninstall:

-Pascal

Hi Pascal,

I’ll give that a try in the morning.

Thanks,

Dan

@DanBayn - you might also check the ‘re-issued’ sr-11 - there are some startup crashes (machines using a USB docking station, I don’t know if that applies here) that are fixed in that build.

-Pascal

Hi Pascal,

This machine was using a USB docking station. The re-release fixed the issue.

Thanks,

Dan
