when the setting show isocurves is not on , it does not show isocurves in the drawing , but when making a new surface and exporting that surface it has isocurves shown , in r8 not , isocurves are visible when making a new surface that is different from r8 as when the option in the display modes is made not show isocurves they are not shown , what is the solution ?
Now you have to selct all parts and in properties take out the show isocurve
I’m having trouble understanding your description of the problem. Is this a problem in Rhino 8 or the Rhino WIP? Are you trying to have all new objects created with isocurves off?
ìt is rhino wip when in the display modes settings show isocurves is off , it does still show iso curves from every new object you make , in 8 off is off no isocurves showing , to my opinion when setting isocurves is of it should not show them .. but .. i mostly design without isocurves
I don’t see that in the WIP: if I turn off isocurves in a display mode, they never show in that display mode. You do know that you have to set the option for each display mode individually?
There are lots of different places where a “Show surface isocurve” setting appears.
In each display mode you can choose whether to display isocurves and that choice affects every object shown in that particular display mode. Each display mode has to be set individually.
In an object’s properties you can choose whether or not to display that object’s isocurves. The default out of the box is to do so. Note that if you turn off isocurves in a display mode they will never appear there regardless of the object property setting.
You can change the default object property setting, so if you never want isocurves on your objects they won’t show up, regardless of the display mode settings. The default setting is in the General section of options.
the last one is off in the ghosted and in properties , in 8 it will be off , but in 9 not you have to select the object and then set it to of in properties so draw a object and the isocurves are on on that object , you do not see them , , but when exporting or another view mode it is on , when setting in properties to of , it will be of
in 8 only 1 setting sets it to of in display modes , a object will not have the isocurves . shown or exporting them , ,yes in 8 it is different , more easy for me as in 9 as we need to select everytime objects to set the isocurves of in properties , for me it works easyer without isocurves
simply , in 8 turn of the isocurves in display mode, draw a object and the isocurves are of in properties
in 9 turn of isocurves in dispay mode , draw a object and the isocurves are on in properties , they do not show btw except when exporting and there i do not want them (dxf export surfaces )
No, with display mode isocurves off, and object property isocurves default set to on, the drawn object has isocurves on in both R8 and the WIP (but they are not visible because of the display mode setting). I am using Rhino 8.29.26041.10001, 2026-02-10 and Rhino 9.0.26041.13355, 2026-02-10 - are you on earlier versions?
Don’t know if it’s related to this issue or not but I have recently been seeing some unexpected behavior with isocurve displays.
Having a hard time replicating at the moment (maybe for reasons further below). I believe it manifested something like this : in Rendered view an object without isocurves visible, when alt-drag copied suddenly aquires isocurves, which aren’t able to be turned off with the checkbox in Properties. The originating object still doesn’t have isocurves and it doesn’t seem to affect objects with materials applied.
I just opened a file that was doing this - and it appears to no longer be showing unexpected isocurves as described, but also Rhino (v8) just updated - so perhaps that’s why? (The preview image in File Explorer still shows the iscocurve-having displayed objects, so that tells me I’m not completely crazy.)
