I want to follow up with the specular reflection comment here:
I get a white border while rendering with a transparent background and a shadow plane (ground plane shadows only).
I tested it in two mac systems (one Intel and one Silicon) - both the same. Same results with and without denoising.
It is not related to a specific file - every file the same border.
I also see a thread about antialiasing here:
Any Idea to solve it or is it just a bug?
[transparent map fail]
I’m new to rhino and I want to turn off all these edge reflections. Searching the forum, it looks like I can do it here:
The black window frame has some reflectivity for final renders, but is there a way to show it just flat black color? I really don’t need to see this reflectivity in rendered view. The white portion is just distracting.

I gave it a try and the white border still appears. What did I miss? Thanks!

@DavidEranen I was first thinking specular reflection here, but do you think we may still have an alpha problem, even without using ground plane?
@nathanletwory I only encountered issues with specifically shadows-only GP + transparent background. This looks more like Fresnel reflections at the edge of a curved surface. Can be tested by swapping out the curved surface with a flat surface and see if the problem goes away or not.

Hey David, I’m brand new to Rhino. Could you show me how to test this with some screenshots? Thanks!

Add a box or plane to the scene and assign it the same material as the top of your objects. Then render and see if you still get the with line.
Reflection you can turn really off only by assigning a completely diffuse material - essentially setting roughness to 100%
