Is there a workflow to use UDIM's in Rhino

I have to integrate mesh objects coming from Maya that have UDIM’s textures applied to them.
Currently, Rhino does not support multiple textures and mapping outside the default 1x1 UV space.
As a workaround, I can split the mesh and regroup the mesh parts by UDIM group, and apply different copies of the material with their corresponding maps. But that’s quite a pain every time a new update comes in or if the file has a lot of UDIM’s.

So first, has anyone a better workaround?
Second, I like to request UDIM’s support for Rhino 8

We have an open feature request for UDIM support in Rhino. This is filed as RH-69319 for future reference and I’ve added your post here as a comment on the request. I don’t believe this will be worked on for Rhino 8.
