Is there a way to Macro the Rotate parallel views option?

In the 3DConnexion setting, I love having the rotate parallel check, But obviously not all the time!
Is this option Macro-able? So it can be assigned to a hotkey that can be mapped to a 3DConnexion physical button

thanks a lot

i have checked and can not find anything, also macroing “always pan parallel views” as an option to toggle does not seem to work… but maybe switching between perspective and parallel could be an alternative till somebody chimes in with some magic script.

hi
the camera is different, that’s the whole point of rotating the parallel views.
Obviously Perspective is also being used. It’s simply much more difficult to maneuver and zoom in some situations [like for example when zooming into a 1mm spot, the perspective distortion is not helpful for moving stuff]

The tick box is also available in Advance, so maybe there’s a way to script a toggle…?

that is clear, but i can not offer you anything else for now, and maybe its better than nothing at this point, just as an idea.

interesting, i never thought about the parallel view to help me out here, but i also never use parallel view so yeah…

well i checked the advanced but i must have mistyped since i could not find anything parallel there at first and yes when its there there is a good chance for a script at least (i assume), not a macro though, maybe @Helvetosaur knows how to access the rhino options through a quicky script?

I sort of solved the issue for my needs… But it is not a Rhino solution so it will be useless for most.

The 3Dconnexion Enterprise device, has a lock tilt button, so if I lock when the view is still in plan, then the device will only zoom and pan

Smaller devices still needs a Rhino solution/script [I too, have an old notebook model with just 2 buttons, for use when working outside the room]
