Is there a quick way to tell which layer an selected item is on?

when I notice in the middle of work I been on a different layer…I just want to click and find what is on what layer and move it back in place.

Hi Toshiaki - Properties shows the selected object’s layer.

right click then properties?

That will work - I tend to work with the Properties panel always open on the right, so I can just look over there.
