iRhino3D WIP | Distance Command

Hi @mkarimi

I’m having an issue with the Distance command. When I start the command, it’s not possible to pick the first point — the measurement starts from the current cursor position instead.

Version v9.0.25350

Thank you for reporting. I logged it here and will try to fix it in the next release:
RV-1429 Distance first point

Thank you!

I cannot reproduce this issue, works correctly on my iPhone

Do you have any special accessibility settings enabled on your iPhone?

Hi @mkarimi , I have no problem to click anywhere and then on second point. The problem is when I want to place first point in exact position with “zoom” view for example in corner of solid / room.

That’s unfortunately a problem that I don’t have a great solution for (on iPhone) because there’s no hover gesture.
On iPad, you can use a pencil that supports hovering, to pick the point when snaps are enabled.

I’m open to suggestions

Actually I had forgotten about this feature I added:

  • Enable “Continuous drawing” in settings >general
  • Enable “Delay 1st point” below it.

You should now be able to move your finger before placing the first point. Point is place when you pause your finger

I made a change in the latest WIP that allows you to pick the first point on finger up so you should be able to place it exactly where you want it.

Hi,

Thank you. It works fine when you pick the first point, but when you want to continue the action and measure another distance, the cursor snaps to the previous position. So you need to run another command in between to start over.

I have made a change so you can get point on “finger up”, this should allow for picking the first and subsequent points.
Please not I’m removing “Continuous drawing” in future releases, it was an experiment that doesn’t seem to work that great
