I am missing something fundamental in iRhino 3D. How do I make sub-object selections? I assume it must use the tool bar with the command-shift buttons but no matter what combination of buttons I push I cannot select a face or sub-object. What am I missing?
I would love to be able to really play around with this app on my iPad but am stymied trying to do simple things which it seems like the interface should more readily make available. I am less interested in markup capabilities and more interested in actual 2D and 3D modeling. Are there some videos available that show McNeel folks putting this app though some modeling exercises that would help me more quickly get a grasp of how to effectively navigate the interface?
still a bit premature to look at the modeling capabilities of irhino. We will likely get there in the future, but it’s not ready for prime time yet (no real UI etc)
The app is developing as the users of it let us know what is important to them. for now that is viewing, markups, and scanning.
You can do so if you’re using a physical keyboard at the moment. I see there’s a bug with the “Modifier Keys widget” that doesn’t work as it should. I’ll have to investigate that.
I logged your request: RV-1357 Modifier keys widget to select sub objects RV-1356 Sub object selection mode
Ah. Ok That would explain my experience as I have been trying to model with the iPad in a flat drawing mode without a keyboard. Yes I am interested in using iRhino as an interactive modeling tool on the iPad and though I love the command line interface with keyboard on the computer I would love to see an intuitive iPad interface with apple pencil and fingers. I understand that this is the work in progress!. Thanks for your efforts
