Intersect-Trim Issue

Hello Forum, I have done a bunch of complicated sculptural stone work designs for a client, each granite seating piece has a different amount of ‘ripples’, on the last one we had 6 ripples which I got to work fine, client changed his mind, now wants 7 ripples on the last model (typical eh!). I just can’t get it to work like the others, model attached and screenshot, any help much appreciated, tia, Milezee

Hello- the interection curve has a gap here -

If you ExtractSrf the top ripple and ExtendSrf a bit, it should work better.

Hi @pascal thanks for taking a look, I’ll dig deeper, , I’ve done a whole bunch of these and this last one I just cant get to work as intended, my eyes are getting tired . I gotta get this done for presentation tomorrow :face_exhaling:. Because these are such big pieces of granite I can give myself +/- 5mm in overall size of finished piece, it’s just getting the final 7 ripple stone trimmed, joined, solid, oh and then I need to render out CGI’s

thanks @pascal , think I got there in the end. I’ve just managed to put a small 2mm fillet edge on the ripples, but I’d like something like a 10mm fillet edge around the top, it’s failing on me, see screenshot attached, any tips/tools/workflow to get a nice round edge on that top perimeter edge ?

pipe trim it and use blend surface to fill the gap-

FilletSrf seems to do the right things - you’ll 3 or 4 as you go around.

HI @theoutside Kyle, I had forgotten all about this approach, thanks for the reminder, I must be getting old, when I haven’t used certain tools or workflows for some time I forget all about them :upside_down_face:. Finished for the day now, I’ll give it a go 1st thing in the morning. @pascal I’ll try fillletsrf too thanks both for the assistance, cheers :beers:
