I’ve been working in V7 for months now because I need to get things done. I’ve some time just now to try and relearn Rhino V8. Straight off, there the issue with key combos I use in V7 that are apparently not even an option anymore - or if so I can’t find where to make that happen. So my question is can I quickly change my views using keys or key combos or if not how does one quickly move tween desired views? I don’t use the 4 window interface - I prefer a single view when working.
Please post your keyboard macros from V7. Then we’ll have a specific example to use for V8.
Thanks!
command + ~ = perspective view
command + 1 = Top
command + 2 = Front
command + 3 = Left
command + 4 = Right
command + 5 = Back
command + 6 = Bottom
Sorry, no. I guess I wasn’t clear.
I would like to see a screenshot of the command macros you created in V7 that act as you described.
I want to set them up in my Mac V7 installation so I can see how they work.
Then I’ll take a run at the same functionality in the new V8 tools.
Thanks
In Rhino 8 > Settings > Keyboard, these macros will do what I think you’re after.
Be advised you will be replacing some existing macros that are very useful.
The interface for Keyboard macros was completely rewritten for V8 so tools like these could work on both the Mac and Windows platforms.
My previous reply has the command macros you are asking for.
@JKayten
Here’s a link to the Command Macros section in the Help file that has all the details:

Sorry John, I’ve been out on a project all day - just now returning. Let me take a look!
Ok - so I find these:
Is the tilde symbol ever used? would it be functional?
I ask because I try to set up keys for the left hand so the right can remain engaged with the mouse.
I see I’d be losing the set display mode options but for the most part I only ever need the shaded and ghosted modes.
The Tilde character is not used.
Scroll down the list and you can find available key combinations you can use.
