Installing plug-in from file in Rhino 8 for Mac

Hi -
This seems like a dead simple question but I’m not finding an answer in the docs or online:
How do I install a plug-in from a file? It’s a .rhp file downloaded from this post.
Package Manager nor Preferences->Plugins seem to have an option, and there’s not a File->Properties->Plugins menu per an earlier forum post.
thank you!

Hi Paul, thanks for your interest in my HPGL code, if you give me 24hrs I’ll make a .YAK file of that file for you and push to the package manager.

Cheers

Hi Paul,

I’ve had a look at the code and I need to make some updates for MacOS and Rhino 8 compatibility - I’ll try and fit that in as a evening fun session tonight.

OK, I’ve got my ini file code working cross platform (KaroroCAD and KaroroCAM had me solve this issue in the past)

Now I’ve run into the issue that MacOS doesn’t use “COM” ports, but a completely different name scheme.

8pm and two beers down in ZA tonight - this is now sounding like a “tomorrow problem”

Back to you soon @Paul_Carbone

Amazing, thanks for digging into this @kiteboardshaper - let me know if I can help with any testing. I’ve got a US Cutter vinyl cutter at the ready and an HP that I can unearth.

Yeah, they use /dev/tty.serial-xxxxxx, and at least on the keyspan adapter I’m using, that xxxx seems to change.
Cheers,
Paul
