I was having trouble transferring Rhino files to the iPad via Airdrop. iPad kept wanting to go to App Store to get “the required App” to open this file, and then would do nothing if I said yes. I compressed the file, thus allowing it to be transferred as a recognized file format (.zip) via Airdrop to Goodreader App and then open with iRhino! Hope this helps someone.

Nice workaround! There are clearly some bugs I need to fix here. We definitely need better support for the new Files app (IR-536)
