How to Switch to a 2 Viewports Layout (Instead of 4)?

Hi,

Is it possible to switch to or create a 2 viewports layout, instead of using the predefined maximized or 4 viewport ones?

What I want is a Top viewport at the left and a Perspective one on the right.

When I try to close the lower Left and Right viewports from the default 4 viewport one, Rhino outputs “A layout must be the active viewport”.
I click on the viewport before attempting this.

I also tried creating a floating additional viewport, which first crashed Rhino. Then at my second attempt it worked, but I couldn’t find a way to reattach it to the main Rhino window. My idea was to dock it next to a perspective viewport.

Anyway, I’m out of ideas. Is this even feasible on the mac?

Thanks.

Hi Marc -

No, it isn’t.
