hey everyone … i have this stupid question popping up every time i use Rhino and could never figure it out and forgot to ask:
can you have more than 4 view tabs/links on the top of the window up there where it says Perspective/Top/Front/Left ?
Can i somehow add some links there for the other views (back/right/bottom) or view settings (shading/grid/etc)? I know i can change each view to another but would be easier if i could just add the other views to that list and swap with one click.
Hi @chris16
Yes - the command is NewViewport or right click on the viewport name and go to Viewport Layout>New Viewport. You can even stack them, so that top/bottom, left/right and front/back are in the same place - and then use the tabs to switch. You can’t (ufortunately) re-arrange the tabs, so make sure you create the additional tabs in an order that makes sense to you. Also, check out NewFloatingViewport.

I see that you have an automatic “mac” tag on this thread.
Just to make sure, as Ryan and Jakob have replied, yes, this is possible. But only on Windows. You can have floating viewports on Mac, but those won’t get added to that row of tabs.

hey thx for the quick replies … but i think i explained this wrong. I don’t need mor than 4 viewports at once, i just want to be able to switch to more than 4 views like this (in pink):
Also i am on mac and it looks like i can’t create additional viewports with the methods you described … i don’t have the NewViewport command or Viewport submenu option when i right click on the name.
