Apparently I don’t know how to reply to people on this discourse and that confuses the heck out of me and others.
I always click that small reply button (in red) to reply to a specific post,
…but I never get this important indicator on my comments (in green).
What am I doing wrong?
A Reply goes to the Topic and everyone can read it.
That’s the best option.
Are you trying to reply to a person privately?
If so, why?
Nono publicly, I just want my comment to visualize signal that I am replying to x person.
Even in this reply it is not obvious I am replying to you without having to quote.
I see some other comment have a reply indicator with the username they are replying to which is very clear.
Type the ‘@’ symbol and the user name like I just did here.
It is not exactly the same as what I am seeing on other comments that have that reply indicator but I can get used to tagging directly, thanks.
If you click on the reply button just below the box with a particular person’s post, you will get the symbol that you are replying to the poster of the message. If you click on the blue reply button below the whole topic, you are replying to the topic and there will be no indication of replying to a particular person’s post.
Running in dark mode doesn’t help with the visibility of the first button.

One button is highlighted blue, while the other is gray. But both make my reply look the same 
Yes, those. When I want to reply to someone I use that one.
I am beginning to think this has to do with me using Firefox?
Dunno, I used FF for years before I switched to Chrome… worked OK for me in that regard.
I sometimes get the reply to indicator, other times I don’t. I haven’t been able to fathom out what governs this.
(On Edge or Chrome - I don’t see it as a browser issue.)
