I want to abuse Rhino’s drafting toolset to create a diagram. That works best in a layout because then I can see different line widths. However, while I can enable the grid, I don’t manage to make it show up.

In model space, you can use PrintDisplay
to show line widths. In Rhino 8, line widths from linetypes are shown in viewports without needing to use PrintDisplay
.
I’m not entirely sure what this means. You can only see grids in details that are active. Do you make a detail active?

I have no details. For the use case, it feels more natural to draw directly on the layout.
Grid snap works, but the grid is not visible. I think it should. Even in normal use cases, i.e. arranging and documenting details, a grid would help visually.
