How to make a ribbon folded into a rectangle

Hi Forum,

I am new to grasshopper and am hoping for some help in modelling a ‘ribbon’ that is folded into a rectangular shape like that shown in the photos below.

My hope is to develop a grasshopper script that allows adjustment to:

  1. The width & thickness/depth of the ribbon itself,
  2. The height and width of the overall rectangle shape that it forms, and
  3. The ‘tightness’ of the fold (i.e., how ‘curved’ the fold is?)

I am really eager to learn how to do this, so any help that you can provide would be immensely appreciated.

Thank you so much.

drawing the two boundary curves and lofting them might be a good starting point

Thank you @inno. I found your response very helpful - particularly because it helped me think through what I’m trying to do and practically how it might work.

I am hoping to be able to adjust the width & thickness/depth of the ribbon itself, + the height and width of the overall rectangle shape that it forms, + the ‘tightness’ of the fold (i.e., how ‘curved’ the fold is?). Do you have any ideas on how I might be able to achieve this?

Thanks again
