I am trying to find a way to do Checker Deselect of vertices in Grasshopper. I can do that to faces with Checkerboard in K2, but not to the vertices.
Blender’s explanation:
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/meshes/selecting/checker_deselect.html
Hello
if I understand what you need, it seems related to “coloring” with 2 colors. It works with a plane, I thought it wasn’t working on the sphere quad mesh !!
So it seems to be just a matter of topology. So you can use my tool nColors.
Here with Face Faces topology, but it will work exactly the same with Vertex Vertices Topology.
My tool will have no solution for this kind of geometry as a point as 5 faces around so it is not possible to color with just 2 colors.

It will work with this topology and Daniel Tool
Same with mine tool
Using SandBox for point topology

It’s there. The Bipartite
component under the K2 Mesh tab
See this thread for some applications:

Now I found another application of nColor! Thank you very much!

Never knew this one existed. This one really does the job, Thanks!

I found Bipartite crashes Rhino if there are duplicated verts in the mesh.
Ah! Thanks for letting me know. Will get this fixed.

hi @laurent_delrieu do you know can we export (mesh) vertex color to 3dmax by vertex colors ?
You can export with WRL (VRML) and OBJ (wavefront) but you have to check the option. Perhaps others formats allow that like fbx, 3ds …
