How to create this shape?

Hey all!

I am a designer, and am working on modeling a component for a lighting fixture. I’ve attached images below of its rough shape, and the more curved form I am striving for. It is a compound curve piece, where the two ends should be .875” square, and the center should be 2.125” wide by 1.68” Thick. The rough shape has ‘square’ edges. but I would like all the faces to curve in to meet at the edge, as you can see in the blue model. However, I cannot get the blue polysurfaces to become solid - there are a few naked edges which wont close up.

This shape was also very labor intensive to create, basically making that square edged object, then drawing curved radi off of each face and ‘patching’ those curves into surfaces. How might I take that existing square edged model, and transform the faces so they drop into the edges as desired?

Note that channel that must be equi-depth along the top face (.375” W by .25” D)

Thank you!

It is much easier for someone to provide assistance if you post a .3dm file with your model. You can include a file in a message by dragging the file to where you type the message or by clicking on the vertical arrow icon above where you type a message.

How much experience do you have with Rhino? What types of objects have you previously modeled with Rhino? Do you have previous experience with other 3D modeling software?

Here is the file.

I have a lot of experience with more rigid and angular geometry. Modeling these complex curvature forms is new to me. The only other program I have used is SketchUp.
