How to create this shape with Grasshopper?

Hello everyone,
I found this interesting post on this forum:

My question is: How do you create such a object with grasshopper? I have a basic understanding of how grasshopper works but this – I just cant figure out…

I only managed to create a dodecahedron (only by hand, not with grasshopper).
How do you make it, that every edge is a 4 sided solid with triangle endpoints? It almost looks like the multipipe-subD result with flat shading. But multipipe creates 6 sided tubes, not 4…

Here is a picture from this post:

Thank you for helping me!

Hey @NiklasG,

LoL - same, that never changes

Here’s an idea I am sure can get streamlined a bit, but seems to get the shape ready for proper SubD’ing (based on the image you show).

The top chunk of the definition generates the dodecahedron, for fun, but you could also use yours or grab a quickie from a polyhedra plugin or something.

Hope it helps!

There are a couple of grasshopper files in this thread that will create this shape:

Here’s another solution to give you more ideas to work with (does not use any plug-ins):
