How to create linear dimensions without offset and without text

I want to use linear annotation as a way to create vector display i can bake and then export to illustrator. However I notice that in order to create a linear dimension one always need to provide an offset.
See attachment, if offset is set to 0, not dim is rendered… I am missing something obvious here/ (setting offset to 0.0001 seems like cheating)

I addition, any thoughts on how to render the linear dimension without the text? Even if I make the text very small, it still export these to illustrator. Yes, the hack is to explode the bake object and select all text and delete these, but still this seems like a hassle

Hi -

With the file that you attached, setting the offset to 0 seemed to work as expected.

Something like this seems to work…

ok, that’s odd. I attach the file i use and the screenshot I see. Can you confirm that it looks the same at your end? (latest version R8 at windows)

Annotations_v1.gh (17.1 KB)

This is what I see when I open that file:

There are always 2 different latest public versions: the SR and the SRC.
… but I’m on 8.12.

ok, i am on Version 8 SR10 / (8.10.24228.13001, 2024-08-15)

I’ve now tried this on macOS (where I can easily switch between versions) and see an issue in both a 8.10 and a 8.11 version. In 8.12, this looks fine.

Hi @wim1 Another issue related to annotations, when using custom arrow head ‘Tick’ is show that when exploding the annotation the curve is mirrored
