How can I make the very slight indentation where the two socket holes are? When I extrude and boolean it it gets sharp edges, but this is a soft edge.

Use FilletSrf or FilletEdge on the sharp edge.

did you even use rhino here? if you have issues with Autocad this is not the appropriate forum.
Yes, I know, I am transferring this drawing from autocat to rhino, that’s why I asked.
does the edge already show in this image? i am afraid the request is becoming quite obscure, but since it is already solved as it seems you could mark the answer by Wim as solution, so that others will find it if they stumble over it again.
