Hiding edges behind visible surfaces when selecting an object

Hi, I was wondering if someone can help me out.

Is it possible to hide edges which are behind the visible polygons/surfaces of selected objects. To illustrate here are two screenshots, first one as Rhino displays them and second one (which I edited in Photoshop and erased the back edges) is how I prefer to see it, because its how Im used to from 3ds Max and Maya.

Its not a big deal on simple objects but on more complex ones creates too much visual clutter and quite frankly I don’t see the point of those being displayed when I can simply switch to wireframe, technical or x-ray or just orbit around the object.

I tried switching the viewport render modes, the viewport options etc, but I couldn’t find anything that will hide them. Any solution for this?

Hi Dimitar -

That isn’t currently possible, no.
We’ve been doing some prototype work for this silhouette display of selected objects and this work will continue in the Rhino 9 WIP cycle.

Thanks Wim. I asked the same question on reddit and someone said that its possible to hide the orange edges completely when I select an object, but didn’t explain how. Is that possible and if it is, how can I do that?

Hi @Dimitar_Venov
Here’s a small script (courtesy of @Jarek) that will toggle selection highlights off/on completely.
