Gumball Issue - Why be such a B

I create an object. Then I rotate it. The gumball will stay oriented to the new angle so I can scale properly and so forth. But then it defaults to the world or Cplane directions even though the GB is set to object. It’s an ongoing irritation I’ve alway had to work around. What am I missing here. Why can’t I get the GB to behave as needed. Note that even after relocating the gumball to any object it returns to the default the next time it’s activated.

Here’s an example. I just extruded and rotated a member but I can’t move it the way I want to now that’s it’s reselected.

Hello- here, with the gumball set to align to the object, it lines up as expected - is that what you want?

Extrusions should always get a properly alighed gumball by default is the gumball is set to align to the object.

I want the GB to remain oriented as It was until and unless I want it otherwise. The same issue takes place with polysurfaces.

Hello- if you need to override the CPlane (or whatever) alignment, use GumbalRelocate

-Pascal

That will only work once. As soon as the object is reselected it defaults back to the standard orientation. I often have need to manipulate objects from a GB oriented to object but I don’t want to redo the command each time.
