It would be great if the layer name display field at the bottom of the interface (which shows either the active layer name or the name of a selected object’s layer) was adjustable or quite a bit longer. It’s usual in my projects for the currently limited size to show only the prefixes of a layer’s name (including the parent layer in the - frequent for me - case of nested layers) which isn’t enough to identify them. It’s great that hovering over the field shows the full name, but it would be a lot better for the display to be sized (or sizable) so that a much longer layer name can show. There’s a lot of space - at least at my working resolution - to the right of the CPU / Minutes from last save / Memory Use / etc display field so maybe the entire row could afford to slide right quite a bit.
Hello- you can make it longer via Options > Advanced >
Rhino.Options.Appearance.StatusBarLayerPaneWidth
Default is 2, 3 0r 4 may work for you.
Close and restart Rhino to see the effect.

That looks great, but it must only be in Rhino 8. I’m still on 7 and I can’t find this item.
Hi David -
That’s correct, yes.
