the cull pattern input is looking for a boolean input (True, False or 1, 0). You can see the expected datatype by hovering over the input

Thank you for your time. I have an example of how it should work (I uploaded an image). However, when I try it, it doesn’t return the boolean input (True, False, or 1, 0) as you mentioned.
Hard to say with the info provide.
If you did put in a pattern into the Text Panel one possibility is that you didn’t make a multiline
Sorry if I’m not being very clear; I’m really doing my best 
In the photo, you can see that when I disconnect the panels for False and True, it works. However, when I reconnect the panels, I lose the other information as well. I did make a multiline but that doesn’t work either. If you don’t know the answer, it’s no problem—I really appreciate your effort.
where it says double click to edit you need to type in your dispatch pattern
