Grasshopper for Mac available for testing

Perhaps, but it may be something else. I’m seeing some (probably related) crash reports regarding a null/missing font, so it may be that the UI is trying to use a font that isn’t on your machine.

This is wonderful news! A massive thank you to everyone involved at McNeel who has made Grasshopper for Mac a reality.

unbelievable!
(and i’m only slightly exaggerating when saying that  )

such great news… can’t wait to dig in and start learning it… (be prepared for some questions fellas  )

not an exact solution (assuming you want grasshopper to always float on top of the rhino window)…

El Capitan has a feature called split view that may be beneficial here…
worth a try at least… here’s a quick video showing it.

so i take it the parental warning is a throwback to the original days of grasshopper? (plays on explicit)
if so, does it still do that on windows?
pretty funny.

When Grasshopper first came or for Windows it was known as Explicit History and had the classic explicit lyrics warning as the splash screen. When the name changed to Grasshopper, so did the splash screen. As @dan mentioned before, this port of GH for Mac has a lot of areas that need attention and testing prior to considering it worthy of the Grasshopper name, thus the temporary naming of Explicit History.

Wow! Great news! This happened so sudden :slightly_smiling:
Now I’ll just wait for JD to make the Maxwell plug-in

Philip

Try ⌘ + ~ to switch between Rhino and EH.

Great - thanks!

I just stumbled on this and was really looking forwards to giving it a spin… typed in ExplicitHistory, Rhino crashed - repeatedly - and I’m also on 10.9.5 So I’ll wait.

The next release of Peacock will be open source, but .NET based.
Peacock componentes only contains native components and some VB script but the Pave component is a Kangaroo definition, so should not work on Mac.

Thanks @Dani_Abalde, I want to have to spend more time with your hard work,

I did open a definition that had a Kangaroo definition and it crashed grasshopper & Rhino on my Mac running El Capitan.

Xmas came late, but it very much welcomed.

)

Even though that I have El Capitan I also own an app called Spectacle. It does split view pretty nicely (specially the shortcuts are an easy and fast way to work)

As an interim solution you could use cmd-` to switch active windows.

Wowo this is great news! thanks a lot for your hard work! this is amazing!

Grasshoper en Mac >>>> genial… ; )

So long I was waiting foe this !!
I hope to do all works on my Mac !!

I like how people our so happy drawing simple circle  Just because they can do it on the Mac now LOL

2016 will be good!

Thank you!

Great news! Looking forward to digging into this…

Yes, it just looks better! More…rounder!
