For my project I need to apply a gradient texture similar to the one below to slightly curved polysurface.
This is my model, I’d like to apply the texture only to the white central area.
An important parameter I need to control is the amount of gradient I want to display on the model so for that I intend to use the UVeditor tool. However, when I apply the textured material to only the white surface for some reason in the UV editor it gets applied to the complete model (as seen in the picture below). This is an issue since it makes it harder to properly control the amount of gradient I want to show.
So my questions would be:
- How can I apply the desired texture only to the white middle area?
- Is it normal that the model “deforms” when displayed in the UVeditor box?
- How can I precisesly control the amount of gradient I show in my model?
