Get Revit Family as Family?

I’ve found, the component “query families” return the familes as “text” not as “family”

Is it a bug? how can I get Revit Family with RI?

Family Filter and Query Family outputting text instead of a Revit family

Hi @libnypacheco, Since Revit has System Families and Component Families we need a way to handle both. The problem is System Families do not have any representation on Revit API besides its name. That’s why we reference families here as texts. You can do your own Famly Filter like this. Query Families component returns string

@attheeast18 There is a reason the component outputs family names. A lot of families in Revit are System Families (are not editable) and do not have a representation in the API. This component returns the names of families so you can use the query type to find the types for a family whether it is a system or custom family. [Screen Shot 2021-04-21 at 9.38.01 AM]
