Fresh WIP is expired

(6.0.14337.13071, 03.12.2014)
Betaversion

Installed a few minutes ago.

Also there are no toolbars, even if I close the dialog.

Hi Charles,

That’s frustrating. I was hoping this problem was finally behind us.

I’ll need some additional information about why Rhino thinks it is expired. To get Rhino to create a debug log, please do the following:

  1. Open Registry Editor
  2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\Global Options\Debug Logging
  3. Set Enabled to 1
  4. Set SaveToFile to 1
  5. Start Rhino
  6. Private Message your RhinoDebugMessages.txt file that will be in your My Documents folder.

Thanks

Hi Brian,

'Fraid it’s not working here either… Tried installing the latest WIP just now… It rolled back to what was already installed… Which will expire in 1 days… --Mitch

@brian - surprise… the WIP was still open (the rolled back install) and I just closed it… It must have downloaded another WIP somehow in the background, and when I closed it, it told me a new WIP was ready to install. I let it install and it worked… So now it is running and I have the latest I think -

Work In Progress
(6.0.14337.13071, 03-Dec-14)

So, false alarm, sort of… --Mitch

Done.
If not, please tell me.

@BrianJ just got wip failure.
Downloaded and installed just now.
Sended you debug file as pvt msg.
Thanks.

Hi All,

Thanks for your private messages with the details of the problem. With your help, I was finally able to reproduce this problem here - which means I was also able to fix it.

I’ll post more details when I release the next WIP (likely Wednesday).

Hi All,

The new WIP is now posted. If you’re experiencing premature WIP expiration, please try this:

  1. Download and install the latest WIP
  2. Start Rhino WIP. You should be prompted to validate your license.
  3. After validating, Rhino will likely tell you it is still expired.
  4. Close Rhino WIP
  5. Start Rhino WIP again. All should be good.

Please let me know if you still see problems with the 12/10/2014 build.

Hi Brian:

Success!
What about the registry setting?
Shall we reset the values to 0 or leave it as it is?

Thanks,

Yay! You can reset the debugging values to zero. Thanks!
