I am starting to use the flow command. I would like to get the red curve to flow along the blue curve. But I just get a failure with no error message. What needs to be corrected?
Have you looked at the Help file article for Flow?
http://docs.mcneel.com/rhino/6mac/help/en-us/index.htm#commands/flow.htm?Highlight=flow
Yes, that is what i was following. I am just getting is
Failed to morph one object.
With no explanation.
Maybe post the curve? Is it a valid (not bad) object?
Sorry, I had dragged and dropped it with the picture but its not there. Here.
Problem Flow 1.3dm (4.7 MB)
Yep, I see that fails…

My guess is the target curve is so gently curved, it’s falling outside of the limits built into the command. That would be a question for the developer.
I’ve played around with the Angle tolerance a bit (your 0.001 degrees was absurd but worth trying), but so far I’m not finding a work-around with Flow
You might try an array along the curve of one repeatable tooth as an alternative.
It works if you set PreserveStructure=Yes…
BTW, Rhino does not like the curve very much, aside from having almost 5K segments, asking Properties>Details takes over a minute here to show up and when trying to measure something the osnaps here seem like they’re stuck in molasses…
fails, but you can explode then flow and then join
Problem Flow 1.3dm (1.8 MB)
if you rebuild the polyline you may have better luck.
but it must explode
Problem Flow 1 (1).3dm (4.1 MB)
In my actual file, before copying, I was using 1/32" as the tolerance.
I tried rebuilding. It works in vikthor’s file but not in mine.
