Finest messed up toolbars since 2004

hey guys,

everytime i start rhino i miss my custom positioned toolbars. I saved them locally but all the toolbars are unchecked.

is it me (as always) or rhino?

edit: i did not change anything on the software or the hardware, besides that I downloaded the newest version of rhino 7.

thank you,
Benjamin

Hi Benjaimin - where are you saving your custom RUI file?

-Pascal

Hey Pascal,

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\7.0\UI\Plug-ins

Thank you,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin - try this as a test- set up your toolbars as you like them and then in OPtions > Toolbar page, SaveAs to some new (not “default”) name on the desktop. Close and reopen Rhino… any good?

hey Pascal,

thank you, it works for the moment. the .rui-file had a different name already, ut i changes the saving location, as you recommend.

thank you,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin - I would expect it to work in the location you list - it shoyld work in any writable folder… Unless possibly you are running Rhino from a different log-in (Like as adminstrator) than your normal log-in…

hello Pascal,

my customised toolbars are gone again. Its not possible to save the toolbar settings. After saving / closing and reopening my customised toolbars are gone and I have to reselect them all again.

thank you,
Benjamin

hi @Benjamin_Schnei debugging this from a distance will be hard and I am unsure if I understand exactly what is going on at your end. Can you post a screenshot of the way you have set up your workspace, before and after reopening? Pls also run _SystemInfo and post back the results.

hello Gijs,

thank you for your response.

hey guys,

seems to work way better now, did you fix something?

thank you!

Hi Benjamin -

No, there haven’t been any recent changes to Rhino 7 in this area.
This issue coming and going is one of the reasons this part of Rhino was completely rewritten for version 8.
