Fillets look weird in PDF vector output

Hey I am trying to create vector plan drawings for a client and I am having a hard time generating quality vector output.

Especially filleted edges seem to display incorrectly, I am attaching screenshots for reference.

If I can’t get proper vector output from 3D, I may have to end up drawing in 2D, which I’d rather not.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

EDIT: The previous images are from a custom version of technical display mode. It seems to look better in Wireframe mode:

I don’t want wireframes in the plans though, and it would also look better if the lines did not have those big dots at the end.

Hi -

Please post both the output of the Rhino SystemInfo command and a 3dm file that we can use to troubleshoot this issue.

I just realized I didn’t have the latest update installed. I just installed it and now it looks like filleted corners look good in section / clipped views, but not in regular unclipped views.

Screenshot of filleted corners in Top view (not clipped):

The same corner in clipped view:

bumping my own post

Is this a bug? Is this just how it is? Does anyone know a way to fix this or can think of a workaround? @wim have you had a chance to look at my file?

Make2D produces proper outlines but two major drawbacks as far as I can see:

  • I’ll have to manually update make2D drawings
  • the additional hassle of having the 2D linework somewhere in model space and having to manage visibility of layers in layout and model space

ClippingDrawings produces nice results and updates dynamically (right?), but then my problem is not with the clipped drawing but with the regular top and side views. I can’t produce those with ClippingDrawings as far as I can tell. Also again I don’t like the 2D drawings floating around in model space, but that’s something I could live with.
