FilletEdge rad change at a certain location how?

Hi,

V5

0.25 rad filletEdge is needed until I get to ‘A’ where 0.2 is needed. but how can one make 0.25 feather into 0.2 ?

and why those DARK lines when in V5 nothing.

I thought I had made V8 appearance as V5 in display modes.

add a handle at A and change the radius… then make sure all the handles after A have the same value-

you’ll do a bit of manual trimming and surfacing to get this to work, but it’s certainly doable with normal modeling tools and techniques.

I used the v9 patch on the left hand most surface-

Fillet reduce rad_kfix.3dm (282.0 KB)

Hi, I am finding the tool tricky., impossible in fact.

I start with 0.25 and do the edges down by the end furthest away from the ‘A’, clicking my way up and over the step there, then the next click on the long curving arced edge puts a 0.25 beyond ‘A’. but I want a 0.2 at just before it narrows, I right click the yellow line that is forming and then see Add Handle, so click that and enter 0.2 and now how do I click beyond ‘A’ as nothing is clickable, only the yellow line that has formed already. and how do I alter the 0.25 at A to 0.2, and add a 0.25 handle just before it.

There is a remove handle but I need to add one first else will lose the entire arc that has been given 0.25.

Shkoould I enter 0.2 before clicking that gives the long arc a radius athen add handle 0.25 when the 0.2 are done ?

tried 5 times cannot fathom out thus.

It should be that one clicks, then enters a different value and clicks, and is allowed to go the entire route doing so.

and what are those BLACK lines in V8, what setting removes them ?

I looked in file properties > display shaded and cannot see such.

Steve

you can click the handles themselves and change the radius as needed

removing isocurves from the display here:

I clicked the handle but expected a window to change the value in, as slight mouse move saw numbers change more vigorously and trciky to land the value one might want.

Steve

click the handle, then type a value if you want somthing specific.

Hi, I will try that.
