The width of the fade zone of the new faded grid is too wide for me. I’d like either a user controlled width, or if that is not feasible a fade width around 10% of the grid line count. In the example below the grid line count setting is 240 and I’d like a fade width of 24 lines. It looks like the current width is something like 40%.
Hi David -
I put this on the list → RH-96500 Display: Faded Grid Options
-wim
Would also be nice to be able to set the fade to a more circular pattern.
where do we activate the Faded Grid ?
Yeah, I’d like to know too.
V9 WIP only. Starting with June 23 2026 version. Depends on Display Mode. From memory View > Display modes > select display mode > bottom of list
yeh just installed latest WIP, cheers ![]()
I like this, but we need a little more control over the fade, at the moment the perimter looks more blurry than fading
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a circle of influence. Grid traveled with cursor. Why have where not needed? —-Mark
I use Rhino on both Windows & Mac machines, the Faded Grid on the Mac is much nicer visually imho
I ran into something similar once, and switching to a different display mode and then back again refreshed the grid correctly. If that doesn’t help, resetting the viewport settings is also worth a try since it can clear up odd visual glitches.
I think the fading grid should follow the mouse cursor. Maybe a circle of influence size. —-Mark
