This is not-intended fallout from a new feature → RH-96349 Display: Grid Outline Visible when Grid is Off
Until this is fixed, you can revert to the old way of drawing the grid with the TestNewGrid command.
The new feature is faded outlines of the grid. This effect is on by default for the Concept display mode only and can be turned on in other display modes from Rhino Options -> Display Modes -> [xyz] -> Grid -> Grid appearance -> Faded Grid.

I don’t have a problem with it (yet). I was just curious if there was something I have missed when following the development.
Looking forward to get if fixed. This can be confusing for some users.

The grid drawing code completely changed over the last couple of weeks and I forgot to update the logic behind the controls on the display panel. I’m going to try and get this fixed today.
