Extra geometry / surfaces when importing dwg file

When I import a dwg into rhino it comes in with extra geometry that is part of certain objects. This geometry is not there in the dwg. This dwg was originally a revit model exported as a dwg which I then imported into rhino. Any thoughts? See images

Thank you

Hello - it may be that there are planes in the revit model that are reference planes and these come in as planar surfaces in Rhino, or, possibly, some planar surfaces are coming in un-trimmed.

thank you @pascal. I think it’s untrimmed planar surfaces. Is there a way to fix this so I don’t have to explode, delete, and remake the right surfaces?

Hi Jun - are the surfaces ‘free floating’ or attached to something else … I’m not picturing what you have there - can you post an example or send to tech@mcneel.com?

-Pascal

they are basically the top and bottom faces so they are attached to the surfaces. Not free floating

I’d try ExtractSrf the oversized faces, delete them, and then Cap the part they were attached to.

Thank you that worked too
